Quaker chapter: Fifty Years of Leadership, Integrity and Service
Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Incorporated was founded on the campus of Morgan State College in the early sixties by fourteen young men, during a worldwide and emerging black consciousness movement. On March 24, 1972, The Quaker Chapter of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Inc. was established on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania by thirteen young men. These thirteen student-scholars, The Avalanche 13, can now commemorate fifty years of excellence at the University of Pennsylvania. Over the years the Quaker undergraduate chapter has initiated eighty-three Fellowmen. These men bonded over their shared passions for Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship and it's mission. Each chapter member brings a unique talent to the organization and now celebrates fifty years of excellence and service.
Quaker Alumni Chapter
In 2007, alumni Fellowmen from the University of Pennsylvania were charted by the national organization to start the Quaker Alumni Chapter. We are currently an active chapter and are recognized for the leadership that our members have provided through the years. To evolve as a fellowship, we must re-establish our campus presence. Over the next five years, we plan to recruit volunteers and log community service hours to improve life in and around the university city area located in Philadelphia PA.
Look to the Future
Currently, Quaker undergraduate chapter is inactive. We’re determined to transform this scenario and plan to recruit new members in 2022. Our goal is to have the undergraduate program re-established by Spring of 2023. We need the support of key stakeholders and partners to realize this goal.
